I HAVE A SOFT, OVAL SHAPED LUMP ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF MY NECK THAT IS STARTING TO BE PAINFUL TO THE TOUCH. IT IS ON THE LEFT SIDE AND I HAD SOME HOT, NERVE PAIN GOING DOWN MY LEFT SIDE TO THE SHOULDER AREA ALONG WITH HEAD ACHES AND SOME THROAT TENDERNESS. I HAVE NO INSURANCE AND CAN USE SOME ADVICE. NO OTHER LUMPS HAVE BEEN DETECTED AND IT HAS BEEN ABOUT A WEEK SINCE I HAVE NOTICED IT. sINCE THEN I HAVE MILD TO NO THROAT IRRITATION AND SEEM TO FEEL OKAY. SHOULD I BE CONCERNED?

Without the ability to examine you first-hand, it is not possible for me to determine the nature of this lump. Insurance or not, a medical provider should examine you if this lump does not resolve. It may be a lymph node, but this is just a blind guess.
