Rod Moser, PA, PhD replied to puruntong's response:
You will need to see a medical provider or an ENT so you can be examined first hand. There may, indeed, be something in your tonsil that is causing it to be inflammed or enlarged. It could be a tonsillith (a tonsil stone) or perhaps, even a foreign body (seed, bone, etc.), so seeing the ENT would be best.

As much as I would like to render an opinion, it would not be possible to do so based solely on a photograph. I am sorry. If you did have Strep adn you were given the proper dose of an antibiotic, it would certainly work.

Naproxyn is an anti-inflammatory medication....it also helps for pain. Keep gargling, but do not make the salt solution too strong...only 5 ml of salt per 240 ml of water.

Rod Moser, PA, PhD replied to puruntong's response:
Again....I haven't seen this "white thing", but it may be an innocent tonsillith (a tonsil stone). These can form in the hole/crypts in your tonsils and are totally unrelated to Strep. Assuming this is what you have, you can dislodge them with your finger, if you can overcome the gag reflex.

Gargling with salt water will certainly help. The massage may feel good but you cannot massage away a tonsillith.

What ISLAND are you from? Just curious.....
