I was reading on WebMD about the symptoms of a cold versus the symtoms of the flu. I have been feeling ill for the last week and seem to have symptoms of both. Is it possible to have the cold and flu?

Rod Moser, PA, PhD responded:
Not really. Influenza is not very prevalent this time of year, but that depends on your location. There are only about three circulating strains of influenza, but over 200 strains of cold viruses. Statistically, you are more likely to get a cold.
