Rod Moser, PA, PhD responded:
Not really. I have never heard of a "frozen larynx" from night air. Certainly one can get laryngitis (usually viral) and it is possible to have some vocal cord paralysis, but I am at a loss to explain to you what is going on in your particular case. I just do not know any of the medical details - I do not know anything about you, your medical history, nor do I have the ability to examine you first-hand.

You would need to ask your medical provider WHY a CT with contrast of the throat and upper chest was justified. Ask him what his diagnostic concerns are.....I am sorry that I can't second guess his diagnostic considerations.
