I have a question. I am on oxygen at night because my O2 drops while I am sleeping. I don't have sleep apnea. I was told that I might be able to get rid of the O2 if I had my andenoids out. I am 60 years old. Any comments on this?

Rod Moser, PA, PhD responded:
Most sixty year olds do not have large or problematic adenoids. Did you see an ENT? The best way to see the adenoidal area is with a fiberoptic rhinoscope -- a tiny device that goes through your nose and down the upper part of your throat where the adenoids are located. An xray can often see them, too, but only ashadow.
