I am a relatively healthy person with nothing wrong with me and no allergies, but I started developing throat and neck tightness on the 27th of july. then on the 30th developed a sore throat, difficulty swallowing, thick mucus behind the uvula and enlarged lymph nodes. I felt as if I was being kinda choked.
I recently went to the doctor on the 5th for tests and my thyroid is fine, I have no allergies, and they gave me some prednisone for the swollen lymph nodes and some amoxicillian anti biotics because they think I may have a bacterial throat infection which is causing this. its been well over 14 days and the throat swelling is still there and uncomfortable,my anti biotics are almost gone, could I be having complications from this virus and should I see my doctor? because I really dont know what to do this discomfort is unbearable.

Of course you have to see your doctor again. If you don't, your doctor will just assume that you are better, and you are not. When people fail to improve on a specific course of treatment, there can be several reasons....some of them are

1. The diagnosis was wrong
2. The treatment was incorrect or inappropriate for the diagnosis that was made
3. You have an underlying issue that was not discovered at the first visit

If your symptoms are "unbearable", then don't bear them....see your doctor again, be re-examined, and perhaps, have some additional diagnostic tests (like an EBV panel for mono, a complete blood count, etc>).
