Tinnitus is a very complicated symptom that can be caused by many things, not just a middle ear infection. The prognosis of tinnitus is never predictable, so there is really no way for anyone to know if your tinnitus will finally resolve. It has only been three weeks, so don't give up hope.
You said that tinnitus can be caused by many things, not just a middle ear infection. So you think that even though the symptoms appeared during the course of middle ear infection that this might not be the true cause?
Do you think I should go to further research for the cause?
Should I avoid places like that at least for now?
And another think. I still have pressure in my left ear. I might even know when it gets a little worse without even hear it, just because I feel the pressure and some pain. Do you think I shoud go to the doctor again? Is this caused by the eustachian tube? The pressure lasts for a while everytime. Should I worry about it? Thank you again!
It makes sense to avoid situations that seem to exacerbate your symptoms.
The fact that he feels your tinnitus will eventually go away is the good news.
Did the tinnitus ever go away?
it is a lot better! Initially I had 2 sounds. A hissing and a ringing, low sounds, and the ringing i could hear only when i closed my ears or in really silent enviroment. Now most of the time when I search for it is undetectable. As for the hissing there have been days that it is even hard to detect. Some other times is a really soothing hissing... So there is improvement there too. As you can see at least in my case things go better even though really slow... of course I am really careful with my ears, not crazy, just careful. As Mr. Moser says, every case is different. I never came back to write because things got better when I stopped woring so much about it. I hope it turns out well for you too! It's nice of you to reply...it's good to know it would improve over time..My tinnitus is a very loud ringing. Im hoping it would go away. Been a very rough week, sleep wise.. just constantly worrying about it. Good luck to you, hope It ALL goes away!
All the best for you.

Tinnitus is a symptom, not a disease, so there can be hundreds of different causes. People with Menieres disease tend to have tinnitus, and this one example of a cause that can run in families.
