Hi!! I sometimes have a crackling sound when I am yawning. I just read some of your replies to a prior individual. My question is, how long does this crackling sound usually last?

Rod Moser, PA, PhD responded:
That depends on many factors, including the specific reason you may have the crackling. If it is really to middle ear fluid or Eustachian tube dysfunction, it would not be possible to know how long it would last. Healing is such an individual process and every person is different.

Well I do have slight TMJ........so could that maybe have something to do with it?

Yes. People with TMJ can experience those symptoms, but unfortunately, there are many other conditions that can cause them as well.
