The common cold

co1een posted:
About 4 days ago I felt like I was getting a cold. Yesterday I knew I had a cold. My concern is that tomorrow I am going to a Christmas dinner with family. My sister in law has been going through Chemo she has had 2 treatments. Should I not go so not to take a chance on her getting it. I dont want to miss this in case she isnt with us next year but I also dont want to take a chance on passing on to her

Colds are contagious a day BEFORE you know you have it, and about 2-3 days later. You will need to take the chance, but there could be other people there, including children, that may be exposing her.

If you want, youcan wear a surgical mask. Make sure your hands are clean, and limit your close, personal contact (like kissing).
