Sore in nose
singingbear posted:
What is the best way to treat a sore in the nostril? It seems mine has been here forever just as it starts to heal the weather changes, the tissues come out, and it is irritated once again. Any suggestions would be appriciated. Spring pollen is just around the corner. Love for it to be gone before then.
Rod Moser, PA, PhD responded:
As you know, I am at a distinct disadvantage by not being able to SEE this "sore". Without having a definitive diagnosis, treatments suggestions would just be blind attempts. My suggestion to you -- since you have had this forever -- would be to see a medical provider so you can have that accurate diagnosis FIRST.

Many intranasal sores are Staph, so you may need an oral antibiotic, or the very least, a prescription nasal ointment like mupiricin.
