when an ear is cauterized where does the drainage go
avatar

My son always had ear infections and his ear kept draining. last year his ear was cauterized and the drainage stopped. My son had been sick with an ear infection, sinus infection and pneumonia and had been being treated for those things. But a few weeks ago, he was rushed to the hospital as he couldnt get any air. They performed an emergency tracheotomy. My husband was wondering if his throat was blocked due to the drainage from the ear going down his throat instead.Has anyone ever heard of this?
