Ear Crackling and Pressure
tayniles posted:
im 18 years old, and about a month and a half ago, i got a weird virus where i had a fever of about 101, a bad headache when standing, and a really sore throat. once the fever and headache went away, my ears plugged up. first it was my left ear, then it was my right. i waited for about a week before i went to the doctor. she told me i had a bad infection in both ears and put me on amoxicillin. The pain, pressure and tinnitus went away, but my ears would still crackle a little when i swallowed. Then the other day i woke up with pain and pressure in my right ear, and the crackling was louder in my left ear than it had been before. I went to the doctor the next day and she said nothing was wrong with my left ear, but my right ear was infected. She put me on 5 day Z-pak, which i just finished last night. im also taking sudafed... but i don't feel like it's really helping. My left ear is still crackling loudly, and my right still feels like there is a lot of pressure and it's crackling and popping. How can i fix this? Im going to africa by the end of june and want my ears feeling normal again.

p.s. i have never had trouble with my ears until a month and a half ago when i got the first infection.
