Mild sore throat, bad taste in mouth, can't taste food or anything

For the past couple of days I have had a mild sore throat that feels swollen/numb. I am also suffering from a bad taste in my mouth but at the same time while eating or drinking I am not able to taste anything, I do not have a fever, every one and a while suffer from some mild chills and feel exhausted. I recently stopped taking a 10 day prescription of bactrim but do not feel this is the cause.

I have checked my throat for puss pockets that normally are a sign of strep throat but I do not see any. Really concerned and appreciate any help.
