Is This Years Flu Shot Causing Vertigo?
    cardenangel posted:
Just wanted to add to this complaint which I can guarantee you almost everyone who takes the flu shot will have. I had the flu shot and have bouts of vertigo throughout the day and have had this since the day after I took the shot. It has now been three days. Since I am a heart patient and had also taken the whooping cough shot last week, I was very concerned that I was allergic via one of my medications. My Doctor said no. The fact is, something in this years flu shot is most certainly affecting something in the inner ear which is causing people to be vertigo. I have talked to numerous friends and all have had this side effect to this years flu shot.

I had the flu shot on September 15. I started getting extreme vertigo in the middle of the night and am just now feeling better 2 days later. I was feeling just great when I got the shot. I am a very healthy 52 year old. I get the shot every year and this is the first year I have had side effects.

Are you symptoms all gone? I had flu shot Friday 3 days ago and this morning woke up with severe vertigo and vomiting I didn't know. What was happening
    dlredf responded:
My wife (64) and I (65) each had a sudden onset of vertigo 1 week following flu shot. Mine lasted approximately 24 hours and was accompanied by nausea, but no vomiting. My wife's came on this am and was accompanied by vomiting and nausea. Still not sure it is related to flu shot. I had been battling a cold, so ear canal virus could also be possible.

I just had the flu vaccine shot on Friday, October 10th, and on Sunday morning (the 12th), I woke up with really bad vertigo and almost fell down. Throughout the days since, I have lost balance and even walked into a wall, and when I lay down on my back, it feels like I am spinning for about 20 seconds. Today (the 15th), it seems a bit better, but I know I still have mild vertigo. It must have been caused by the flu vaccine, because I have never had vertigo before and the timing is very strange.

I had flu shot on Oct 30 and had the vertigo the following night.

I never had vertigo before and I am healthy otherwise. There is something in this year flu shot which we will never going to find out.

I had the flu shot last year (2013) and (2014) and 2 weeks after ended up with vertigo. I had. To go for treatments no was told a fungus was in the inner ear. I ended up with nerve damage. Here it is now since Thanksgiving and I'm still in treatments. Doctors all say not connected with shot...but I still think so.

The same happened to me this year. I had the flu shot and 1 week later vertigo began. Went to the doctor and he put me on mecliziness for my dizziness, it helped a little but it did not go away. Finally went to the ENT and he put me in Prednisone for a treatment of 6 days and now the vertigo is gone. Hope this helps.
