    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Hi all,

Has anyone had experience of Mastoiditis?

I had an operation to remove the mastoid bone about 16yrs ago. Since then I have had to have check ups and my ear syringed every 3-6 months. The idea was this would reduce to less frequently but it never has. Over the last 2yrs my ear itches like mad, an itch I can't scratch as it feels to far inside. I get headaches and throat pain as well. I tell the nurse when I go for my appointments but they just put different types of cream in which seem to work for about a week then it starts again.

Anybody else get any advice on this or experienced themselves, it is getting me down now

    Thanks in advance
