    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,

Have you found the ALL EARS BLOG?

If you would like to liven up your day....perhaps have a laugh, or read some vignettes of my professional or personal life (it is actually more than that), I invite you to visit my ALL EARS BLOG.

You will quickly find that it isn't just about ears, although there are many informative ear topics you will be able to find. One of the best characteristics of any medical professional is to LISTEN, so I think that ALL EARS really means that I am "all ears". I listen. Of course, I not only listen, but I tell about it!

You can read my tongue-in-cheek expose about the Tooth Fairy, or my struggles with several of my friends who have cancer; two that are terminal. If you are dog-lovers, you can read about our Sheltie puppies. If you want to know how an impoverish Appalachian boy became a medical provider, writer, and Blogger, it is in there, too. I harp about patients who come late, insurances, high medical costs, medical mistakes, getting older, short term memories,....you name it. If I hadn't written about it in the nearly 400 blogs so far, I will get to it.

Perhaps in the style of Andy Rooney or Dave Barry, I try to interject my own, personal brand of humor in most of the Blogs that I write. This is how I am. I try to make my patients feel better when they leave than when they arrived, and not all leave with a prescription. Some leave with some sound advice, and all leave with kind words and a smile. Medical care is so more than just bandaids and antibiotics.
