What happens after the recovery from surgery?

My mother is 85 and has colon cancer with a tumor. She is going to have surgery to remove the tumor. She is not planning on other treatment (her choice). How can I find out what to expect ? I know we won't know how bad bad is until after the surgery, but I want to find out as much as we can.

God is good they are going to remove the tumor, just expect a slow recovery take a day at a time be patient with her, make her days happier and easy she will be fine.
