What do you mean a heartbeat in your throat. You can feel your own pulse on the side of your neck without being pregnant.

I have experienced this. When pregnant the pulse at the carotid artery located at the base of the throat "beats" twice as fast. This is due to more blood being pumped through the body to sustain the pregnancy. When not pregnant it goes at the same rate as your heart.
