Not pregnant, but 3 days late - BC ?

My last period was Oct. 20th. It lasted 6 days. I started BC pills the Sunday after my period ended. I only took them for 3 weeks then stopped.
Now, Im sure this is why my period is late. My question is, has anyone else done this? because I took the pill for 3 wks, will my period be 3 wks late? That was the first time ever taking BC and I was just scared to take it because of all the commercials of blood clots, etc...and plus, I want to get prego again in May, so I really don't want to be on BC (sometimes it can take awhile to get prego after getting off of it).
So, when will my period come back?!?!
