Could I be pregnant?
An_249527 posted:
Been on the pill for almost 15 years, stopped taking them in August. Went 3 months with no period, finally got it on November 28th. I've spent a fortune on home pregnancy tests and ovulation kits, but I'm not sure how when I should really expect another period, so it's hard to say if I'm 'late' or not. Assuming I'm back to a 28 day cycle, I would be due again on Christmas day... Since yesterday, I've been feeling sorta sick (stomach crampy and yucky), but I don't know if this is just pre-period symptoms. Not usual for me, but neither is going 3 months without a period! Could I be pregnant? I could tell you I have other symptoms as well, but being super tired could be just cause I've had a lot of long days and little sleep, headaches are the norm for me, and many other early symptoms are not out of the ordinary for me... I don't know anymore... anyone?

Going 3 months without a period after getting off the pill is common. Remember, when on birth control, the hormones in the pill determined when you got your period, not your body. When you go off the pill, it can take a few months (in rare cases up to a year) for your body to re-learn how to regulate its own hormones.

If you've had unprotected sex since your last period, you could be pregnant. The only way to know is to take a test. I'd wait and see if you get your next period and if it's late by more than a day or two, then take a test.

I'm just not sure when it should be due, so it would be hard to say if its late or not... Should I assume that I'm still on a 28 day cycle? How many days after having sex is the earliest I can take a test?

If it's been at least two weeks since you had unprotected sex, you can take a test.
