Your doctor should've explained to you what it meant.
I would recommend asking your doctor so you know for sure.

This happened to me...There are 2 different types of blood tests hcg qualititative and hcg quantitative. For the "qualitative" to be positive your level has to be above a 5 for the "quantitative" to be positive your level has to be above a 25 (or whatever reference value your lab sets). So for my first pregnancy test my qualitative was positive but my quantitative was 24, so it was technically negative.
