    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

I would like to get information for having a sexual relationship and just over general information on herpes. I haven't had it but a few days now and my boyfriend has had it for a year. I feel like I am in the dark on this information. Is there any books to read ?

There's nothing inherently dirty about sex, but if you try real hard and use your imagination you can overcome that.

highly contagious. Most of the time genital herpes is usually all over the private area where condom does not cover. Be very careful.

Sorry but it's not on the genitals 'most' of the time, it's more like 4-5% of the time. There are plenty of discordant couples, including my husband and I, who have been together for numerous years without transmission.

Also, if you read her entire post you would have noted that they both have genital herpes now, so the need to be careful is no longer needed.

To the OP: try the link FCL gave you, there are plenty of knowledgable people on that board on this subject.
