If dairy products bother you, it's possible you're lactose intolerant. There is a test for that. But, why don't you just try to stay away from dairy products, if you can, and see if it makes a difference. If it does, you're more than likely intolerant. I am somewhat. In other words, sometimes dairy products bother me and sometimes they don't. I don't push my luck tho...If I do try dairy products, I just try a very small amount.

Diet is important if you've got crohns or ulcerative colitis. I know what I can and cannot tolerate. It's difficult at first to realize that we're in control of a lot of our symptoms. Once you realize what is and isn't good for you, you've come a long way.

Since I'm lactose intolerant, I know how milk and other dairy goods disturb my system. Albeit milk and ice cream are the worst. But since you're having problems with grains and flour based meals too, it could be some other problem that's disturbing you. Although since I actually came down with lactose intolerance and ulcerative colitis almost at the same time, you could possibly be lactose intolerant and have some other problem too such as I did.

Thanks for your help. Yes I am not sure what the real problem is since my specialist has found nothing in a colonoscopy, so he doesnt think it is serious. but in the meantime, almost everyday I have problems.

I am thinking of changing doctors now.

Definitely i've cut down on milk products and also products containing omega 6. I eat a lot of wholewheat stuff, bread, flour, etc, which helps.

With the sulfasalazine, if i take it regularly, 500mg, twice a day, it really helps, but also I cannot eat a normal meal at dinner time, i have to reduce the amount i eat at night and sometimes feel hungry before going to bed unfortunately.
