I have Crohns for the past 4 years so they say. I have never had a flare since I had my surgery 4 years ago. For over the past 4 years I have been gaining weight and can not get it off. Please advise on what to do.

Are you on any meds now that is helping to control your Crohns? Some of these meds can cause a weight gain. I know you had the surgery, and if that has completely taken care of it, you are very fortunate.

Keep in touch.

You are one of the lucky ones.

As far as getting weight off, I guess it's the same old, same old thing. Count your calories, watch fat intake and get exercise of some kind. Perhaps your Dr. can head you in the right direction. Weight loss is certainly not a simple thing, and so, so difficult to do. I have had weight problems for years, but the only plus side of my ulcerative colitis is that I lost 30 plus pounds as a result of it, but I have had to battle to keep it off. And, of course, some foods are no-nos when you have Crohns and/or UC.

In other words, it's a real battle however you look at it. Keep us posted on how you're doing. Again, maybe your physician can help you with a workable diet. Good luck and God bless.
