State your opinion: What are the most dangerous diet plans out there right now?
Why do you think the plan is dangerous?
A plan that stresses too much of one of the food groups is dangerous as a balance of protein, carbohydrates, fiber and other nutrients is important. All things in moderation is a truism.
A plan that is forced on one as the only way to go is also dangerous as we are all different. Some will say Vegan is the way to go, or vegetarian, or Atkins, or South Beach, but for someone to say this is the only way and all of you will follow it-forget it. What is their agenda?
Anyone can lose weight (even me), you just need two things: motivation and encourage. Failure is often due to "mismatched strategies" -- you pick the wrong diet.
All diets are the same: less calories; more exercise. It is as simple as that. No magic. Just physics.

Once again you hit the nail on the head about diets.
The best way to diet is to monitor everything you eat. Most people would be amazed just how much we put into our mouths. I use a smaller plate than the one my Hubs uses. Not to take anything away from Web MD but the place I found most helpful is Fitday. com. It monitors your exercise---breaks down the amount of carbs, fats, and protein you eat. Plus has a great journal to write down your moods---and why you eat more if you are upset or under stress. I am sure WebMD also has a great site---however haven't checked into it as yet.
Any diet that says to eat more protein (Atkins Diet) or any one certain food over another one is extremely bad for you. Who wants to end up with a high cholerstrol count? Everything in moderation is my "Motto"!

People get bored! When I did Atkins I had terrible carb cravings. I happen to be doing the Paleo thing right now but that allows me enough variety to eat what my body is asking for. And for the first time in my life it's asking for lean meats and fruits and veggies and NOT asking for refined sugar or bread!
Everybody is different. Some might do really well on an Okinawan diet for example. I just know I've found what I do want, and don't want.
Atkin's Diet gave me a jump start and now I eat what I want in moderation and the weight has stayed off and I have always exercised. The Atkin's Diet DID NOT raise my cholesterol.
I recently had to be on a liquid diet for a couple weeks after surgery. I can tell you, it didn't matter what I drank, even milkshakes, I was still desperately hungry every minute of the day or night. And after all that, I only lost 4 or 5 pounds! If I'd just replaced desserts with a bigger portion of vegetables for a few weeks, I could have lost those same 5 pounds with almost no suffering at all!
