We love coming up with topics for this board that we think you'll enjoy sinking your teeth into, but we'd also love to start some topics that you have requested.
If you have a topic you'd like to debate with others, post your suggestion here on this thread.
Happy New Year!
Olivia
Also, could we keep the day's topic in the forefront? I know initially you push-pinned it to the top, but after a while it seemed to drift, and I was never quite sure what we were focusing on. Maybe even only putting it there for a day or so and then presenting a new issue might keep folks checking, and keep the discussion fresh?
I know you asked for ideas, but wanted to check on these issues first. Generally, I find this new board a super idea!
Blessings.
Rachael
While I will of course defer to Olivia on your inquiry re: the day's topics in the forefront, I wanted to immediately answer that YES, all topics are up for grabs, and not limited to only health or medical topics.
So please suggest away!
(and thanks for sharing; this is your space, and would not be at all possible without you)

I concur with our dear product manager above. We can hit on just about any topic. I can't promise we'll take all suggestions as some may be a little TOO hot for WebMD, but all suggestions are still welcome.
Take care,
Olivia
Would you like us to offer the suggestions on this site or is there some other less public arena for us to do so in order for you to keep tabs on the ideas... and to determine the "heat" of the subject?
One other suggestion I offered: Could we keep one topic on the site only for a day or so...no longer. By doing so, we might draw people daily to just check in to see what's new...and won't give folks time to get bored with the same issues? Just a suggestion.
Rachael
You are welcome to send suggestions to us at communitymanagement@webmd.net . Just be sure to put "Debate Topics" as you subject line in the email.

Should there be more boundaries on Cosmetic Surgery?
Do you agree with allowing the Pharmaceutical Drug Company's to advertise via television, magazines, billboards?
Should the President be allowed to sign Bill's into Law on New Year's Eve?
concerned reader
PS the email did not work that's why I'm posting on this discussion.
Would you, as the song says, "trade all your tomorrows for one yesterday"???
What do I hope to accomplish with my life?
(Lengthy) Despite pre-election campaign promises, this New Year's Eve President Obama, with the approval of Congress, signed legislation which essentially preserves the ongoing policy permitting the detention of American citizens indefinitely with no meaningful way to assert their innocence.
In other words, some of our citizens could be jailed for life without trial.
Apparently both the Administration and Congress feel that in this age of terrorism, in order to insure our safety, it is necessary to destroy a basic Constitutional guarantee: Fair and impartial justice.
How do you feel????????
Rachael (I'll most likely have more...Stay tuned!!)
I'll take a closer look at that one in a sec.
Keep in mind that off-topic can be okay as long as people aren't attacking each other. If that is happening, those posts will be removed.

Here is the address -- communitymanagement@webmd.net . I realized that I typed it as .com instead of .net. Ugh.
So sorry.
Olivia
I would like to start a discussion rather than a debate, per say...
The topic: "Safe Names We May Use to Refer to Other Members (of Below Average Intelligence)". lol
