question about hospitalization

to any one who has had to be hospitalized for depression.
for any length of time, even just a day,
what happened? how did you know
you needed hospitalization?
how did you get there?
were you angry about it?
did it help at all?
please share anything you can. thanks.

I knew I was going to take my life if I didn't have someone to stop me. My children where going to lose there mother. I knew I could not live through the pain any longer. It did help. I was in a good place that was very helpful, put on medication, given therapy, and most importantly, educated about about depression. I still struggle with depression, am still on meds, and am still in therapy, but I have a great relationship with my kids, and they are glad I am still here.Get the help you need.You are worth it.

I was hospitalized for about a week, but wasn't happy about it at all. I tried to end my life and ended up getting 302. It helped me find my therapist who understands me and helps me when my depression reappears.
