Hi,
I've had depression for years and I struggle on. From time to time Ihave come up with a Vitamin D deficiency. I know that all the doctors and web sites tell you to use sun screen to protect your skin from sun damage but doesn't that also block out Vitamin D? I was reading our local paper the other day and one guy that wrote in to the doctors colum had a suprising D deficiency and he golfs all the time, even in the winter time....the catch of his story was that he always....always wears sunscreen. So how much sun is safe. I know that I need that Vitamin D to feel half way human and I can't do with out some sun exposure. Help give me some reasonable guild lines.

hello, M --

this is a really interesting Q!

i think you are likely to get a more knowledgeable answer in the skin problems/treatments community, http://exchanges.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments-exchange , where there is an expert on-board, so let me suggest that you re-post your inquiry there.
