Hey guys, I feel aweful- a person that goes to a lot of meetings with us died of an overdose- that could have been me- evidently he mixed two drugs together, got high, laid down, and never woke up- I will probably shed some tears at the funeral- he ha d a 2 year old daughter

(TRIGGER) Hey Jaws, that is very sad and i am sorry for your loss. it is a rude awakening when it is close to home so keep yourself safe. i feel for his 2 year old as well. she will never get to know her father, and will always wonder why.
are you taking care of yourself? how are you hanging in?

So sorry to hear this. I bet that scared everyone in your group that he passed away from an OD. I'm sure it's really hard on you too, are you doing ok?

I just came back from the viewing, it was heartbreaking when his two year old daughter kissed her daddy on the forehead. I lost it in the car.

I went to the funeral today, so SAD!!! Especially for the family- our NA group was there for his family and group support.

J, you know i can understand that envy but you need to find a different way to get that peace, something safe for you.
You have been through a hellish time but you must look forward and use some of that skills and knowledge that you have used for years on yourself.

I have NEVER felt peace. From childhood on up- no father figure. I even send my mom a fathers day card. She tried to tell me how to be a man- its not the same. My father died in Vietnam in 1969. I always wonder what my life would have been like if he was alive.
