I dont know why this FD hurts so bad this year, Although he died 43 years ago and I was only 4 years old. This year hurts worst. Im angry he died and left me to deal with tat evil stepfather. When I was 4or 5 my mom was working the nightshift and I needed her.THIS actually happened: When I was crying I saw a figure on the bed that was my dadand he let me talk to him and he comforted me until I went back to sleep-I actually sa him!!! I do believe in comforting spirits.

Jaws, I don't know why this year is harder for you. It is for me, too. Some years it's not a big deal, but this one is different.
I believe you - that your dad was there with you, providing comfort. I'm glad you remember that. Want to chat on Sunday? Would that help? Or would it be better for you if you didn't?

Hi J, I think it is lovely that you have that special memory and that you have you believe in it, what does it matter whether you mom or anyone else does, it is your memory for you to keep. I hope Sunday is not too bad for you, come in here and we will all get through the day together. Saying that my dad is still with us but I wont have contact, a whole different story.
Hugs
People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily....... Zig Ziglar

jaws, that is really cool. I do believe you, and I agree, who cares if your mom doesn't. She wasn't there, she didn't experience it. What matters is, that in that moment, when you needed to be comforted, your dad made it a point to visit you in person. And you have that memory to keep near your heart always.
