A short walk

A short walk to the Kwik Shop, creates so much joy for my little friend. Running back and forth as soon as I reach for the duty bags. When I sit down to put his harness on he comes to attention and places his legs into the harness. Then racing and dancing all the way to the door.

Had to make it a short walk, the sky is ominous, black clouds rolling boiling in, so dark the street lights come on automatically, there is no wind as yet., The black wall races steady forward. Thunder is heard and felt, vibrating through the walls, yet no signs of lightning yet. The clouds are high and mighty. Rolling higher and higher. It's a strange storm coming. There is an oppression in the air. Not even a stir of a breeze. Like the feeling you get when something evil is present. The birds have stopped singing. It's only 69F, and 10:30 in the morning, it looks like you should see the last gleams of the setting sun. Brrrr!

Wow D, I love hearing you write. That storm sounds like something else! I hope you stay safe inside...stay away from the windows, just in case, eh?

AKM, lol - it's what it looked like, rain finally came for 30-40 mins, couldn't see much more than a quarter mile. Did see a wall cloud - those are a concern as tornado's typically/most often spawn out of those - nothing happened so all good. Just surprise by the lack of "official alerts" I have lived in just about all conditions except volcano's and know when to to duck and cover. Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Flooding, Blizzards, Tornadoes and Heat Indexes over 110 F. I love watching the weather. Mother Nature is so impressive when she flexes her muscles. New photo should be showing up soon, 21 yr old son and me at a Polka dance. I like to change these photos often, depending on mood. No I wasn't drinking, just looks that way. I was the DD. so others could enjoy. None of us typically get carried a way, like two drink maximum. You don't want to get caught over the limit, not these days.

That's neat, D, I love watching the weather too. DH and I spent a year in PA, and the east coast has some awesome storms. We had one where it knocked out the power and put a tree down a little ways down the street, torrential rains and such fun it was! I was inside watching the lightning storm from the window, candles lit around the house. Since I was little I liked storms, maybe I got a love of them from my dad. It's awesome, isn't it?

AKM, neat? It's inspiring to watch the intensity build and then blow out. Have you seen micro-bursts. Satellite photo's look like you took a rectangular pie pan and pushed down on the top of the clouds. Underneath were the action is - saw a 60' by 15' Cottonwood pushed over to the ground. Straight line winds up to 90mph - pushing semi's over, cars, vans. The aftermath damage is punishing.

hi D, not sure how to respond to the weather stories, we have nothing like that here in Scotland, well we have lots of floods, gale force winds, snow, rain and sun in one day but never to the extremes that you describe.
Anyway, I am more here to say, love the photo, handsome son and handsome dad. You both look alike
hugs x
People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily....... Zig Ziglar

I don't mean it's neat to get caught out in a major storm or tornado or something, just neat to watch the action from a safe distance.
I have not seen a micro-burst, or if I did, I didn't know it was called that. Sounds pretty crazy!
