Beautiful Day, a simple joy.

What a difference 24 hrs makes.

Brisk morning about 60, low humidity - sky so clear, it's like the blue you see in the water off a Caribbean Island. You might expect to be able to see across the universe. You half expect to see sails in the sky from the sloops.

Kind of reminds me of looking across the Chesapeake Bay from the east side by Hemmingways Restaurant (best cream of crab soup I have ever had, of course the splash of sherry helps) at Annapolis on an early Sunday morning. The sloops and yachts from the Naval Academy dancing across the water.

Oh yes, 60 can feel brisk and dry after a week of upper 80's and mid 90's.

What a beautiful picture you paint. I can taste the soup. Feel the wind, see the sky....

Oh my god, that soup is to die for. Creamy and frothy, the blend of crab and sherry (slight woodsy flavor) Sorry about using the to die for, but it is that good. Mouth is bleating for some now. Enough whining! I can't get the exact recipe nor the fresh crab here. I have tried about a dozen different concoctions - can come close but it's not the same. It could be memories are so much tastier than reality. Heading back to work, be back later.

I think it's the magic of the place - the whole experience. Of course I have never been there, just saying sometimes there is a special little magic in the air...
I personally feel like a salad made by anyone else always tastes better, even if I use the exact same ingredients! Can't explain it...

I agree MyRain,
A lot of times food does taste better when someone else cooks it.
Plus if you're near the sea, you get the warm sun, the salt air and the exercise walking about to work up a great appetite. So I would say memories DO taste better...at least until you revisit them again. Maybe you will out-do your memories next time, D!
