I told myself i will do at least one thing that i enjoy (even if i don't feel like it) so i attempted to draw a surfer catchin a wave - needs a lot of work yet. - i wish i were at the beach i love the ocean. Have you all done at least one thing today 'you' really enjoy? if not, what would happen if you tried it? What would you do? just thinking out loud.
(((hugs)))

I haven't done one thing I used to enjoy. I gave up all my vices, including women.

Haha, I can see how gardens are much safer than women.
What about gardens with women in them?
If I'm not too tired (kiddo woke me up early) then I might go work in my girl friend's garden and get some weeding done. She's letting me help her in it for the reward of some produce come harvest time.
Yesterday the same friend took me strawberry picking. It was fun! I told her more of what was going on with me, and it felt good to be honest. A lot of the time with her I try to just keep a stiff upper lip and smile my way through. But I know she's the kind of friend I could trust. She's a lot like me, so that helps.

A. Mom, amazing how therapeutic it is, you feel better especially knowing the goodies to come. I think it has to do with getting back to our real roots. Plus there is the benefit of the physical labor.

Hi D, yes I agree, it's great digging in the dirt. I read an article some time ago that said there are actually compounds in the dirt itself that help fight depression. They get into your system via inhaling dirt particles while you're digging and moving all that dirt around. I thought that was pretty cool. I've loved gardening since I was a little girl, when I was young I loved to play in the mud, and my mom saw a way to make that productive and introduced me to gardening. I haven't looked back since.

A.Mom - sounds like your mom is/was a smart cookie getting you into gardening. I have grown flowers for years/centuries - never got into the vege's but they are fun as well. This garden is nearly organic, lots of compost and the freshness is enough to make one drool.

Haha about it being centuries
I'm not a real big veggie gardener, I prefer flowers, but my friend is doing lots of veggies so I'm learning how they grow.
Happy gardening!
