Do you tell anyone about your depression?

Yes, and my ex-husband was the non believer. He dumped me because the medication I've been on since 1990 put a smack 80 pounds on me. He complained that I slept all the time. It's much better without him.
I tell people on social feeds and most people that asked to be my "friend" did so because they have it to. Some chose me because I have fibromyalgia in 94% of my body, which includes the brain muscle!
It's made me much more aware of other peoples mental problems, and sometimes I'll ask if they are mentally ill after asking permission to ask a question. They all have gladly reponded YES. I just smile bigger and say me too.
I have people who are supportive of me at Church, who are genuinely happy to see me. I'm a huggy person so I get and give lots of hugs on Sunday! Very uplifting.
I have 3 cycles of thoughts that run through my head at various speeds competing fo action, so it's hard for me to concentrate. Sure I make lists and promptly forget whats on the list! I'm on disability becuase I can't stay on my feet to long, nor sit too long, my short term memory stinks.
Just hang in there everyone, we know who we are and that's what counts, we are important people who affect others in some way. I try to keep it positive. ant negative is kept inside.

Hi Freebrd06 and Welcome -

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and experience with depression and fibro.

I do not have depression, but I am much to often frustrated by others perception of this disease (and fibro "but you don't look sick").

So glad you found this community!

Elizabeth
