My fathers depression

My father is a vietnam vet i think has undiagnosed ptsd. Last year had a heart attack. could that event cause panic attacks or depression if so do we talk to a vet counselor or psycologist? He has experienced a shaky feeling throughout his body But given a clean bill of health by all the doctors hes has seen Any Ideas how to figure this out would be greatly appreciated

Yes, the heart attack could cause panic attacks and depression and he should certainly talk to a therapist. According to the American Heart Assoc., depression is common after a heart attack. http://circ.ahajournals.org/content/123/25/e639.full and can raise the risk of another heart attack.
