I finally started writing again.

It needs work, not even close to professional, but then I am not a writer.
Began as a seed
in need of love.

reach for the warm sun
and water needed.

Pushed through the soil
tender green.

Slender and tender
the first of days.

began to bud
still in need of love.

grew tall and green
tender stalk in the meadow.

came the winds of turmoil
battered to and fro

desolation by the winds
of time

slender and tender
without the love to grow

the seasons progressed
the days drawing short.

no longer tender and green
but strong in belief

Spreading new tender seeds
feeding them the love they need.

still waiting for the love needed

the fall comes slowly
turning from green to yellow

feel the strength failing as
green turns to gold.

hollow and frail
tasting the bitter reaper.

Waiting for the love needed to grow.

Chez1, not to worry - we are getting our first blast of winter this weekend. My part of the country is fairly windy as well, modest gusts 25-40 mph range. I'll be traveling this weekend and out of town for the next two weeks. Working but beats staring at the walls.

Thank you for sharing your talent with us! Working does beat staring at the walls

Chez, snow and cold is so hard for me to imagine now that I've been in Southern California for 20 years. My 7 and 4 year old have never experienced snow and we're considering driving up to the mountains this year. However, I will have to find some "cold-appropriate" clothes. The heaviest coats we have are sweat-shirt material hoodies!
