Feeling OK Mentally, but feeling severely depressed physically

An_249311 posted:
I had a pretty normal, low-stress workday but started feeling god-awful on the ride home, with what I perceived to be severe symptoms of depression, with no apparent cause. I've had this happen once or twice to me in the past few years, but nothing as bad as this. I can muster the thought process, but barely the energy to write this now.

What causes this sort of "physical symptom-only depression"? Has anyone expereinced something similar? What should be done other than the obvious go lie down, go for a walk, eat something et cetera.

Thanks.

Hi Anon
sorry you are having these symptoms, I understand that they can be distressing.
Are they long lasting, can you identify anything that may have triggered them?
It is very difficult to work out what is physical and what is mental ill-health as the 2 cross over, I suggest you go and see your doctor and explain/describe what has and is happening to you just now.
It is not only depression that causes these physical symptoms, fatigue, low haemoglobin, viruses and many more can cause us to simply feel awful, so once again I advice that you see your doctor.
Please let us know how you are doing.
People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily...........Zig Ziglar
