    Lonely and depressed
    Ross79 posted:
Hi all. I am 33 years old and am completely depressed. I was fired from my job a month and a half ago without any notice or warning. I got divorced in July of 2011 after an 8 year marriage because my wife decided a younger guy was better for her. Ever since my divorce I have had failed relationship after relationship. I have had extreme difficulty in even landing an interview with an employer. I have suffered from depression my entire life and haven even been instutionalized in my younger years with my longest time being 2 years in a outdoor theraputical program. I have fallen behind on bills, car payments and have to move out of a house I just moved into 2 months ago. My family does not offer much support to me and I have very few friends. I feel so lost and so sad. I cry all the time. It really saddens me that there is not actual in person support groups for depression that I can find at least. Any feedback would be great.

Sounds like a really rough situation... just at a moment when you need strength and resiliance to take you through a tough time, then the bottom falls out it doesn't seem that anybody will help, or even listen. But you aren't alone. If I may offer a suggestion, it may not be the best time to try to start a new relationship. I just say that because it might be failing when it doesn't need to because you have so much else going on. I could be wrong, it's just a thought I had.

In the meantime, there are online depression groups out there... this is one, though it doesn't have as much activity as might be helpful. There are also free call in lines, not just for crisis assistance, but just to chat. There is one that I think was called "A Kind Voice," or something very similar. You might try Googling that. I'll respond, if you like, and I'm sure others here will too.
