    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Dealing with your inner critic
    Jeune1 posted:
A lot of people struggle with their inner critic, or as I call it, my internal bully. There are a lot of articles out there about dealing with it, but this is one of the better ones I've found. If you're looking for a therapist who can help, ask around for one who does Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I agree, good article. I didn't score too well on the internal critic scale. I think today is not a good day to take it.

Talk about blowing a test. Yikes.
    Jeune1 replied to Demons2011's response:
I didn't even NOTICE the test and I've read that article a few times. Observation, what's that?

Thanks for pointing it out you all. I took it and wow. My inner critic is a healthy beast. Maybe I can enter it in some contests. I could use the prize money.
    alaska_mommy replied to Jeune1's response:
LOL Jeune. Maybe we can get all our inner beasts together and take over the capital or something else cool like that? At least take over the local Starbucks.
    Jeune1 replied to alaska_mommy's response:
Oh man. The thought of letting Inner Critics run around is making me giggle. Godzilla x King Kong x the 50' Woman on steroids wouldn't be so bad.

But if we could sic them on people, we could rule the world. "Dear Leaders of the World. Hand over 11 zillion dollars by midnight or our Inner Critics will make you all feel like such utter rubbish that you curl up and cry!"

Say. Sounds like the plot for a psychological thriller/horror novel. What do you think?
    alaska_mommy replied to Jeune1's response:
I think that sounds great! Reminds me of an old, old movie called "The Tingler." Ever heard of it? In it, people's fear becomes a real living thing and gets loose and tries to kill someone...sort of looked like an earwig the size of a cat. Anyway, so maybe we need our own movie where our inner critic is fleshed out (literally!) and we can see the havoc it wreaks on society...maybe we could make some major moolah!! Hehe.
I love the ransom idea too, "if you don't give me a zillion bucks"...I think we could list many things that our inner critic could do that would leave even the staunchest white-collared CEO tremble in fear.
    Demons2011 replied to alaska_mommy's response:
Ahem, A-Mom, you forget who reads these boards. I saw it first run at a drive-in in Alexandria, VA. whole family (6) for 5 bucks. I won't give the year.
    alaska_mommy replied to Demons2011's response:
What I wouldn't give for prices like that nowadays!
