Helping someone with depression

As someone with depression and anxiety, I can truly understand the pain and confusion that family goes through dealing with this diagnoses. The number one thing I reccomend, is that there is therapy for both the person and the closest family. Therapy, I believe, is essential toward feeling better. The next thing i can reccomend, is to not push anyone with depression. From personal experience, critism and over motivation, only caused me to feel worse and useless. Depression is like a rollercoaster, one day you feel okay...the next you dont. Love and understanding are the best you can give to someone with depression. Educating yourself about depression wouldnt hurt either:)
