    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? hello, W --

in response to another post about magnesium for depression, i wrote --

webMD info on magnesium is at http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-998-MAGNESIUM.aspx?activeIngredientId=998&activeIngredientName=MAGNESIUM&source=2 . other websites state that magnesium is not widely used or recommended for depression.

unfortunately, i did not keep a list of the other websites i checked for magnesium and depression. i am not a medical person, so at this point i think maybe you should check on this for yourself (search/"google" for {magnesium depression} and see what you get).

you need to know that i have a considerable amt of skepticism about the reliability of info on what i do not consider to be mainstream medical websites, esp forum-type websites and those related to the commercial sale of products; i am sure this influenced my response to the earlier post.

please keep us posted on what you find out.
