I have to say this post gave me the titters today. You see-somehow my mother accidentally subscribed to Maxim. (A "gentleman's magazine") It came yesterday so when she was up for breakfast I handed it to her and chided her about that type of reading material teasingly. Cover story: how to cheat without getting caught! No. I am not kidding. She got flustered and that southern accent I love and rarely hear came out in full force.

Then this afternoon Dr Dansinger is talking sex. If today hadn't been so busy...I might have taken the opportunity to make her giggle more about it.

Great advice except I have a husband who has been neutered by Lupron and Casodex. Got any suggestions for me?

DavidHueben replied to tobiemomj's response:
Yes...I have a suggestion.

The two drugs you mentioned are sometimes prescribed for a man with prostate cancer. I don't know if that is the situation with your husband, because you didn't say.

But, if it is, he is probably struggling with both the implications of the disease and his ability to perform or not perform sexually. That is a pretty big burden to bear.

My suggestion to you would to try and be patient and understanding. There are other ways to achieve physical intimacy besides sexual intercourse, but I will not elaborate.

And because he is taking those meds, the chance that the insurance company will pay for ED meds are higher. Check and see with your pharmacy benifit manager if there is an authorization for a medication that may help.

Yes I strongly believe in this and will take it. After sex I feel emotionally healthy and it gives lot of sleep. To my own opinion it helps me to prevent having prostate cancer. I am happy having sex every other day.

hi readers,
yes sex and diabetes go hand in hand.....we all know that sex is the best form of exercise and calories are lost in ever step of act if done with precaution and intrest.and also u get a good sound sleep and one more added benifit is that you lead a stress free time. But one should remember to have a safe sex and be loyal to partner.

Love the whole idea of more sex = exercise/activity to help my diabetes levels. Biggest problem for me is I work days, and my husband works nights. If we are home together, he wants to do it in the a.m. when I'm not awake enough or aroused sufficiently, and it takes me a long time to get in the mood. Evenings work better for me, but I don't want my teenage son to "hear" us and he stays up late. So as much I would love to add daily sex as a "workout", we're lucky to have sex 2-3 times/month. I'll have to show this discussion to my hubby to see what he says. I'm sure he's all for more sex; it's just our timing does't work out so well......:(

I have had surgery and removal of my prostate. i suffered without sex until my doctor said he could fix it if I could inject a liquid into my penis. I was shocked at first, but it's not that big of a deal unless one doesn't want to move forward. I have no problem with great sex again and I am sorry my doctor didn't mention it earlier !!!
