    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,
    WebMD Message Boards Management

Years ago i met a woman on this board and we became close friends. We emailed each other every day and then one day i sent her one and didn't get a response. A week later i learned that she had died . I miss her very much and think of her often. Today i was shocked to see a message from her account in my inbox. I deleted it but i'm a little upset. Who could be using her old email?

Hackers, spammers and scammers are very experienced in getting into people's e-mails and sending messages from those accounts.

You were right to delete the e-mail, and you should mark it as spam. If you get another one, you can contact your e-mail software provider (i.e. Yahoo.com) and report the incident.

I've had it happen to me a few years ago. Someone used one of my e-mail addresses to send spam. Then they would delete everything out of the 'sent' folder to wipe out the evidence. I contacted Yahoo and changed all my passwords. I daily check my 'sent' folder to make sure it is not empty.

It is a horrible thing but one of the dangers of the internet we all need to be aware of and protect ourselves against.

Thanks. I do use yahoo. I will change my password, as Dave suggested, just to be safe.
