Hello everyone,
My Doctor informed me approx., 3 1/2 months ago that I was boarder line Diabete. Diabetes, run in my family as my Mother, Brother and a few of my Aunts are, and take insulin as well. My biggest thing is, I am so confused as to what I should and should not do. My Doctor, asked me to loose -30 lbs. and to cut sugar intake. I have lost approx., 16 lbs. and still loosing. Also, I am watching everything that I eat. I notice that sometimes after a work out I am so tired that I can hardly move. My next scheduled appointment is August 16, 2012, to receive the blood reading and weight information. I talk to my Mother, and Brother to gain their insights as well but, still very confused. My Brother has already had three (3) toes removed due to his Diabetes and my Mother has kidney problems. In addition, I am taking GTF Chrominum 200 mcg. & Vitamin D3 50000 mg. daily. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hello.

WebMD has an excellent Diabetes Health Center here: http://diabetes.webmd.com/default.htm
Reading through this should help you better understand how to control Diabetes.

Do you have a meter? They are inexpensive at WalMart and would be a good investment. You should be checking your blood glucose readings each morning after not eating for 10-12 hours and then you can check 2 hours after a meal.

Some people find supplements helpful while others do not.

Consulting with a Certified Diabetes Educator, nutritionist or dietician would be very beneficial.

Do your research and discuss your concerns with your doctor at your next appointment.
