Effective Diabetes Drug

I have been taking Metformin (1000 mg - 1 morning and night) and Glyburide (10 mg - 1 morning and night), and they have done a good job of controlling my blood sugar until recently. I recently found out that I have a heart arrhythmia (Atrial Flutter), and I was put on SEVERAL cardiac drugs. Ever since then, my blood sugars have NOT been controlled very well. I went to the doctor today, and he added Jenuvia, which is VERY expensive. I'm wondering if anybody has had any similar experience, and has any ideas as to any "cheaper" drugs that worked for them. I really need to get these sugars under control, but money IS also a concern.

Thanks in advance for your help.
