Hello and welcome.

Here is a link to the WebMD Diabetes Health Center: http://diabetes.webmd.com/default.htm

There is excellent information that will help you understand and control your Type 2 Diabetes.

Can you call the VA and talk to a nurse or doctor?

Sometimes it takes oral meds several weeks to start working. Also, regular exercise will help blood glucose readings go down. Many Type 2 Diabetics follow a diet that is low in carbohydrates (starches) with lots of vegetables, lean protein and some low-fat dairy products.

I hope you can get this under control soon.
