2 weeks ago i was told that I have type 2 Diabetes. I started meds and completely changed my diets. My blood sugar is consist over 300 or 400 depending. What do I need to do? I go to the VA Hospital in Atlanta anf can not been seen till NOV 15.

There is excellent information that will help you understand and control your Type 2 Diabetes.

Can you call the VA and talk to a nurse or doctor?

Sometimes it takes oral meds several weeks to start working. Also, regular exercise will help blood glucose readings go down. Many Type 2 Diabetics follow a diet that is low in carbohydrates (starches) with lots of vegetables, lean protein and some low-fat dairy products.
