This is where community members can check in to discuss the weekend, the upcoming week or....anything at all! Here's some topics to get us started:
How was the weekend? I saw my best friend from college who I met when I was 17. Husband took the kids and we sat and talked and had dinner and laughed for 6 hours. Put me in such a great mood! The 7 year old had a swim meet - we were at the pool at 7 am on Saturday but it was worth it. She swam her heart out and got 1st place in her 50 yard backstroke heat.
What's up this week? MRI on Thursday! Having lots of shoulder problems but found a great new doctor that I feel very confidant about. Have been working with a not-so-great doctor and suspect I've been misdiagnosed. Putting the finishing touches on our Halloween yard decorations and costumes. I love Halloween
How's Your Weather? FINALLY beautiful! Was 100 on October 1st but cooled down over the weekend. I think I might be able to wear a sweatshirt this week!
Who is next?

Our weekend was nice. My wonderful wife works as an assistant manager in a retail store, so of course she worked both day. Saturday I took my dad out to lunch and for a nice ride. He has Alzheimer's and is in a very good assisted living facility. Once per week, usually Saturdays, I take him some supplies and then out for a while. He enjoys that. Sunday was church in the am and a bible study at a friends house in the evening. My wife went to the morning church service but I went to the bible study alone.
There is not too much happening this coming week. My wife is off work today and tomorrow. Mostly relaxing and a few small projects are planned.
Our weather has been fairly nice. Still not a lot of rain, but not a drought anymore. Today is sunny and heading into the 60's. The autumn leaves on the trees have been gorgeous. I am planning to grill rib-eye steaks outside later.
Haylen, I hope your MRI goes well and they can accurately diagnose and treat your shoulder problem.
Have a blessed and marvelous Monday friends.

Blessings,
Dave
My weekend was filled with much stuff - made dinner for my 92 yr old friend on Friday, played cards with the ladies on Saturday, did more packing. Sunday I cleaned the bldgs coffee pots for the last time (been doing it for 5yr). Played more cards in the afternoon - rested in the evening.
This week I have an appt. with the Pulmonary Dr. to go over my new CT scans and PFT (Pulmonary function test). This appt. is on Wed. Followed by Bingo and a going away party for me which I did not want. Friday is my follow-up appt. with the Neurosurgeon - so I can get my much needed deep muscle massage.
Sunday is moving boxes day, Monday is the furniture moving day. Then I'll be living in Delafield, WI.
Our weather is okay - in the 60's during the day and 30-40's at night. It is suppose to rain today we need it. Tomorrow in the 70's again.
Hayden I hope and pray they can get to the bottom of your shoulder pain. I ended up have an arthrogram on my shoulder, they do the MRI with a shot of dye right into the shoulder to see how bad my tear was and to see if there was any other damage. Mine was just a partial tear but it still required surgery then therapy. Good Luck keep up posted.

We spent the weekend working on our hall bathroom. It's to the point where we just need to put sealer on the grout around the tub and on the floor. Hubby did a beautiful job renovating it. I spent part of Saturday afternoon pressure washing our driveway.
This week are 2 appts. one is a liver ultrasound tomorrow, the other is to see a TMJ specialist on Thurs. Also we will be going out to lunch with our realtor on Thurs. We renovate houses as a start up business.
The weather is a little cool here, in the 60's or maybe low 70's during the day, down into the 40's at night.
Hope they find what's wrong with your shoulder Haylen.
Good luck with all your appts. and moving Debsbears.
Moving is so stressful but you sound like you're facing it like a champ! You didn't want a going away party? Well, I hope you're able to relax and enjoy yourself. Maybe there will be yummy snacks
Good luck with all appointments - a deep muscle massage sounds wonderful to me right now! H
Autumn leaves and rib-eye sound divine...my mouth is watering!

We currently have various shades of light yellow in our family room and kitchen along with reddish/brown on bead board in the kitchen under the chair railing. We will continue the yellow theme into the short hallway and maybe even into the LR and DR.
The new bathroom has greyish tiles around the tub, reddish tile on the floor and tan walls. It may sound odd, but it looks great and we have found the color combination also helps sell a house.
Hmm, I know, when we get pictures up I can put them on picassa and post the link here.
Hubby does this because he enjoys it, his real job is programming analyst.
How'd your MRI go?
Just looking forward to a solid diagnosis so I can take the next steps. I really miss being able to raise my arm, ya know? Have to get back to yoga before my brain explodes. The bathroom colors sound interesting! You must have had so much fun picking out tiles and colors. Have you bought new towles and things to match? New bathroom towels are like an anti-depressant for me
My 4 year old's room is light yellow and light green - it's my favorite room in the house - the colors are so soothing and inviting.
Thank you for sharing - let me know if you need some help getting photos up - it's currently "challenging" on this platform but we're working on making it more user friendly. (Your programming husband might have some input - ha, ha)

I got to spend most of my Thursday in the ER again, another bout of cellulitis this time in both ankles. Turns out that the vein insufficiency I have puts me at a higher risk, so another round of antibiotics.

Deb and Confused - thank you so much for checking on my shoulder. The MRI was really tough for me - when I came out of the tube all shaky and freaked out, the tech gave me a hug and a snack sized Snickers - yippee for nice strangers and candy!
My doctor called me from his vacation and talked to me for almost 30 minutes about the results. Looks like my choices are a band-aid or a permanent fix via an outpatient procedure. I'm very interested in full range of motion and being pain free so I'm getting a 2nd opinion based on these results and will probably have the surgery. LOVE LOVE LOVE this doctor. He encouraged me to take x-ray and MRI to another doctor for a new 2nd opinion. I named a few doctors that I've heard of and he said "They are great doctors but I trained them! You need to find a doctor not connected to me!" How cool is that?!??!
So, I'll let you guys know what I decide. You might end up with another moderator for a while but I'll make sure it's a great one
(they are all great, by the way!) Haylen
I had two herniated discs in my lumbar region. L4-5 and L5-S1. I, too, wanted full range of motion and being pain free. The nucleous of the two discs were pressing on my sciatic nerve and I couldn't eat, sleep or barely move. I couldn't eat because of all the aspirin and pain meds I was taking. Had them fixed and never looked back.
Had a second opinion and a third opinion. You just figure out what is best for you and your quality of life. Wishing you the best of luck in whatever you choose.
