Melatonin 5mg

Has anyone seen their blood sugars rise in the a.m. after being on melatonin for awhile? The info I have researched is mixed. I am 64 yrs old and have been a type 2 for 12 years. I take 500mg of metformin. I really find melatonin to help my sleep. Recently my tests in the a.m. have jumped from 110 to 120 range to 130 to 145 range. Would melatonin alone cause rise in moringing readings?
