You can eat any kind of meat you'd like. Avoid breaded meats. The things you need to really watch and avoid are things like white bread, rolls, potatoes, bagels, muffins. You should look for whole grain breads and pasta and pay attention to carb count and serving size. Most fruits need to be eaten with caution. You need to check the carb count of everything you eat. It's best to keep a food diary. You should plan on 45 grams of carbs per meal and 15 grams of carbs per snack (snack twice daily). You can pick up a carb counting book or use the internet to check carb counts. If you have medical insurance, you should consult a dietician who can help you plan meals and educate you about counting carbs.
