    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

I have been taking this drug for over 10 years...I was so mad when the FDA stuck their nose into taking it off the market...I actually believe in this drug highly...I cant go through my local pharmacy for it but I did get aapproved on going directly to the manufacturer...People need to realize that Diabetis can cause heart problems/strokes...Ive had 2strokes before I ever started taking this great drug...I will fight for this medication cause I know personally it works...

Avandia was taken off the market because its continued use was suspected of causing heart attacks for diabetics. You are right, mr. yankee, people with diabetes are at higher risk for heart attack to begin with. But, the only difference between a heart attack and a stroke is where the "clog" occurs...one's, the heart; the other's, the brain. Considering your past history, is it possible that taking Avandia may do you more harm than good?
